STEP ONE: Find & Save Audio Files
The first step to creating any audio project in Audacity is to find or create the audio clips you will work with. There are many free sources available by simply searching in any of the search engines available to you on your computer. Once you have found said files and saved them to your computer you can begin.
For this project I have used audio clips from a wav file website at: http://www.wavsource.com. It should be noted that when using Safari I was unable to open the clips at this particular site so I would suggest using the latest version of the Firefox (free) as an alternative <http://www.mozilla.com/firefox>. However, as mentioned earlier, you can find audio files using any search engine.
Please use the following clips for the sake of this tutorial so you can compare your file to mine:
Voice Files
* Arnold Schwarzenegger (Last Action Hero): police.wav
* Humphrey Bogart (Treasure of the Sierra Madre): badges.wav
* Humphrey Bogart (unknown): thats_it.wav
* Robert DeNiro (This Boy's Life): piehole.wav
* Humphrey Bogart (Petrified Forest): wrong.wav
* Humphrey Bogart (unknown): quits.wav
SFX Files
* Sound FX page 2: gunshots2.wav
Music Files
* Clint Eastwood: good_bad_ugly.wav
For sake of ease, don't bother searching wavsource.com for this tutorial. You can save each of these files to your own computer from this tutorial website. Do this by right clicking on each wav file and saving them. Save them in the same spot so it is easy to find your files when you need them.
